April 28: Chiara Quartet performs free family concert at Matt Talbot Kitchen

LINCOLN, NE— The Chiara Quartet (Rebecca Fischer and Hye Yung Julie Yoon, violins; Jonah Sirota, viola; Gregory Beaver, cello), which has been artists-in-residence at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln since 2005, will bring the concert hall to the community in the fourth and final concert in a series of classical music performances for the working poor and homeless men, women, and children at the Matt Talbot Kitchen & Outreach on Saturday, April 28 at 1pm. This free family concert will also be open to the public. The program includes a musical story based on the children’s book Mole Music by David McPhail as well as introductions to the different string quartet instruments. Television crews and photographers are welcome with advance notice.

Mar 25: Chiara String Quartet performs in Ulster Chamber Music Series

KINGSTON, NY — On Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 3pm the Chiara String Quartet (Rebecca Fischer and Hye Yung Julie Yoon, violins; Jonah Sirota, viola; and Gregory Beaver, cello) will perform at the Church of the Holy Cross (30 Pine Grove Avenue), as part of the 44th Annual Ulster Chamber Music Series. The program includes Haydn’s String Quartet in D Major, Op. 76, No. 5; Bartok’s String Quartet No. 3; and Brahms’ String Quartet in B-Flat Major, Op. 67. A reception will follow the concert.

Mar 23: Chiara Quartet gives final free concert of the season at Harvard

Cambridge, MA—On Friday, March 23, 2012 at 8pm, the Chiara Quartet (Rebecca Fischer and Hye Yung Julie Yoon, violins; Jonah Sirota, viola; and Gregory Beaver, cello) will perform their final free concert of the year at Harvard University’s John Knowles Paine Concert Hall (Cambridge, MA) as part of the Music Department’s Blodgett Chamber Music Series. The Chiara is residence at Harvard University for four one-week periods each academic year, as the Blodgett Artists-in-Residence. They have recently renewed their residency for an additional three years, until 2014. Their March 23 concert includes Haydn’s String Quartet in D Major, Op, 76, No. 5; Ann Cleare’s moil; Bartok’s String Quartet No. 3; and Brahms’ String Quartet in B-Flat Major, Op. 67.

Mar 7: Chiara Quartet performs at UNL, feat. premiere of Huang Ruo's Calligraffiti

LINCOLN, NE —On Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 7:30pm, the Chiara String Quartet (Rebecca Fischer and Hye Yung Julie Yoon, violins; Jonah Sirota, viola; and Gregory Beaver, cello) will perform at Kimball Recital Hall (11th and R Streets), as a part of the celebrated Hixson-Lied Concert Series presented by The University of Nebraska-Lincoln, School of Music. This will be its final concert of the season and includes Schubert’s String Quartet in C Minor, Quartettsatz; Bartok’s String Quartet No. 3; the Nebraska premiere of Huang Ruo’s Calligraffiti; and Haydn’s String Quartet in D Major, Op. 76, No. 5.

Cambridge, MA—On Friday, February 17, 2012 at 8pm, the Chiara Quartet (Rebecca Fischer and Hye Yung Julie Yoon, violins; Jonah Sirota, viola; and Gregory Beaver, cello) will perform its third free concert of the year at Harvard University’s John Knowles Paine Hall (Cambridge, MA) as part of the Music Department’s Blodgett Chamber Music Series. The Chiara is in residence at Harvard University for four one-week periods each academic year, as the Blodgett Artists-in-Residence. They have recently renewed their residency for an additional three years, until 2014. Their February 17 program is an all-Schubert concert and includes his String Quartet in A Minor, D. 804 “Rosamunde”; String Quartet in C Minor, D. 703 “Quartettsatz”; and String Quartet in D Minor, D. 810 “Death and the Maiden.”
